Washington Wizards

Fans in Washington D.C. have been vocal about Durant returning home to bring a championship to the city, ala LeBron James.

However, the last few seasons have seen a resurgence for the Wizards as they are now a perennial playoff team.

More from NBA Rumors

A lot of their success has to do with the dynamic duo of John Wall and Bradley Beal. The pair have been playing excellent basketball and were at one time challenging the Splash Brothers of Golden State for the title of best back-court in the NBA.

On the Wizards, Durant would get a hero’s welcome and a chance to change the power-structure of the Eastern Conference. A triple-threat of Durant, Wall, and Beal on-paper would make them the biggest threat to the Cavaliers as the best team in the East.

The main problem: Beal has been struggling with injury and as a result the Wizards are currently out of the playoffs (10th in the East). As of this writing, the Wizards are more than four games behind 7th place Indiana.

The best thing that Washington can do to entice Durant at this point would be to fight their way into the playoff picture and give him hope that a healthy trio would lead to a championship.
