New York Knicks: Five Head Coaching Candidates To Replace Derek Fisher
Luke Walton
Last Job: Interim Head Coach/Assistant, Golden State Warriors (2015-16)
This is probably the ideal scenario for the New York Knicks, though they’re going to have to outbid in order to secure the hottest head coaching candidate at the moment.
Everyone with a head coaching vacancy this summer is going to want to hire Walton, it’s no secret. With what he was able to do in Steve Kerr‘s Absence – even if it was simply not messing anything up – Walton is now the most sought after coach. He’s the “next” guy up.
Problem is, he’ll likely have his choice of jobs. Ultimatley, it could come down to whether he’d like to coach the New York Knicks or Los Angeles Lakers – and he has a connection to both.
Walton played the majority of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers and won NBA Championships there. He also played under Phil Jackson.

The biggest decision of the summer may not come to whether Kevin Durant decides to re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder or leave, but rather who Walton decides to coach next season.
OK, just kidding. But you get the picture.
