NBA: The Winners And Losers Of The NBA Trade Dud-Line
Phoenix Suns – WINNERS
Moves: Traded Markieff Morris To The WAS For A First-Round Pick, Kris Humphries And DeJuan Blair
The Phoenix Suns finally managed to rid themselves of Markieff Morris. And to added the cherry on top, too, by snagging a first-round pick, which is what they wanted, away from the Wizards in the process.
Even though a trade for Morris seemed bleak at best in the waning hours of the NBA Trade Deadline, the Suns didn’t panic and just move Morris just for the sake of moving him. They had a price and stuck to it. Kudos to them.
Unlike last year, in which the Suns were forced to move Goran Dragic, the Suns played ball on their dime. And it paid off. Phoenix no longer has to worry about locker room issues, with Morris gone, and can now continue to build to the future. The myriad of draft picks that they’ve collected over the last two years will definitely come in handy sooner rather than later.
The Suns did good for themselves. They didn’t completely embarrass themselves. Winners.
