Sacramento Kings: Own 8th overall pick, and not much use for it

The Kings have had several issues over the past few months. Coaches, picks, trade rumors have all brought this team to the forefront of NBA talks.

DeMarcus Cousins is the superstar King of the future, and if he is here to stay the Kings need to make the future now. They currently hold the eighth pick, but the real question is: What can they get for this pick?

This is my proposed trade that the Kings should make:

  • Kings acquire: 19th overall pick in the NBA draft and Will Barton
  • Nuggets acquire: 8th overall pick in the NBA draft and Marco Belinelli

Rajon Rondo is set to be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and he may not return. Could that be good for Kings? Darren Collison then gets moved back to point guard where he is certainly comfortable with, and the Kings can acquire Will Barton for their 8th overall pick. Barton would perfectly fit in Sacramento, and the 8th overall pick may be enough for Denver as they already have the seventh overall pick.

Sacramento needs to build this team round Boogie now. Denver can see the future in a couple of years with the young talent they would and already have acquired.
