NBA Mock Draft 2016: 76ers, Lakers Get Their Guy; Suns Reaching?
6. New Orleans Pelicans
Pick: Kris Dunn, PG, Providence
The New Orleans Pelicans really just need to draft a healthy body in this year’s NBA Draft. That’s all. If they can successfully pull that off, they’ll be fine. Kidding aside, Kris Dunn would be a smart pick for the Pelicans here.
Jrue Holiday, who they hoped to be Anthony Davis‘ sidekick, when they acquired him from the Sixers a few years ago, simply hasn’t panned out. That’s OK. But it’s time to address that mistake. Drafting a player like Dunn would successfully achieve that.
The best part about drafting a player like Dunn, who played four years at Providence, is that he can play right away – perhaps even start. Dunn is 22 and has a ton of experience under his belt. He’s one of the few top 20, or so, picks that should be ready to play from Day 1.
