NBA Draft 2016: Results And Pick-By-Pick Analysis
7. Denver Nuggets
Pick: Jamal Murray, G, Kentucky
I’m shocked the Denver Nuggets didn’t take a foreigner. Just kidding. But Jamal Murray kind of fell to the Nuggets’ laps, and there was really no debate. Murray was the pick.
Jamal Murray is a prototypical two-guard that showed real promise during his lone season at Kentucky. While he did struggle to show his playmaking ability during his freshman year, he did show that he can shoot with the best of them and is sneaky athletic.
Murray might take a year or two to fully develop into the player that many expect him to be, but the Nuggets don’t need him to be special right away anyways. The Nuggets did well with the board that they were dealt.
