New Orleans Pelicans

Biggest Hole: A True No. 2

Anthony Davis‘ future in the NBA is bright. In theory, that should mean that the Pelicans’ should be too. However, for a number of reasons, that simply hasn’t been the case. Whether it be because of healthy concerns or the simple inability to surround Davis with the necessary talent, New Orleans has fallen short of expectations for years.

The biggest issue for the Pelicans is that they don’t have a reliable No. 2 to stick next to Davis – and they haven’t ever since they drafted the talented big man. They tried with Jrue Holiday, Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans – none of those projects have worked out.

Will Buddy Hield develop into the No. 2 guy that Davis has long desired during his time with the New Orleans Pelicans?
