One thing’s for sure, if Derrick Favors is the most underrated player in the NBA then Paul Millsap is right under him. For some of the same reasons, Millsap often gets overlooked as a member of the Atlanta Hawks. And it’s quite perplexing why.

Millsap is one of the best frontcourt defenders in the game, can score from anywhere on the court and is an solid distributor of the basketball. He’s a big part of the reason why the Hawks have made the playoffs in each of the last three seasons – and made deep runs in each of the last two.

The true test comes this season, though, now that Dwight Howard has replaced Big Al in the ATL. We’re going to find just how versatile Millsap really is. If he’s the player we all believe that he is, he’ll be fine.
