Who Will Be The Best Player On The Warriors This Season?

Saenz: Klay Thompson. Just kidding. The best player will be Stephen Curry. He’s still the most entertaining player in the NBA, and his life just got a lot easier with the arrival of Kevin Durant. Does it really matter, though?

Little: While it will be a close race between Curry and Durant, I think Curry will be looked at as the best player for a few reasons. First of all, Curry is a back-to-back reigning MVP, so going into the season, he will have the upper hand. Secondly, Curry is the point guard and will have the ball in his hand more than Durant will. What that means is Curry will average more assists, and probably more points. After all, he is the greatest shooter of all time, and Durant is now his right hand man.

Merrion: Wardell Stephen Curry

Blochlinger: Kevin Durant will be the Warriors’ best player this season. This is a hard question to answer because “best” can mean a lot of things. Durant will probably lead the team in scoring because physically, he is by far the most gifted and can offer a mismatch with basically anyone who tries to guard him. Curry’s assists are going to go up because he now has 3 all-star caliber players to feed. I think Durant will be the guy with the best numbers and may even be in the MVP conversation. This stacked team is going to be something we haven’t yet seen before.

Jenkins: Stephen Curry will lead the Warriors again. His numbers may suffer, but I don’t think his leadership will. He was historically great last season, and would have to suffer a massive drop-off to lose control of this team. No Warrior will win the MVP this year, but that doesn’t mean that Curry will actually be any worse than he was last year.

Rippon: Steph Curry. With apologies to Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant, don’t overthink this one. Curry is the reigning two-time MVP. Curry is the reigning NBA scoring champion. Curry is the face of the Warriors’ franchise. Curry was the consensus best player in the whole league for 90 percent of last season. And for as great his team, Curry is the best player in Golden State until proven otherwise.

Donadic: Klay Thompson will be the Warriors’ best all-around player this season. The acquisition of Kevin Durant, coupled with reigning two-time MVP Stephen Curry should open up the floor for Thompson to dominate and exploit opponent’s defenses. A majority of teams will put their best defender on Curry, with their second best falling to KD; thus leaving the underappreciated Splash Brother to score at will. His offensive freedom, combined with his usual defensive tenacity will culminate in the best season of Thompson’s young career.

Eddy: Kevin Durant.
