Lauri Markkanen Goes Top 7

Over the last couple of weeks, there have been some NBA Draft experts that have suggested the possibility of Lauri Markkanen falling out of the top 10. Because of his lack of overall body strength or his shortcomings on the defensive end, some have projected Markkanen to drop a bit.

I don’t buy it.

Markkanen is a 7-footer with a beautiful shooting stroke. That’s something that is rare for players that size. Does Markkanen have defensive issues? Absolutely. But, in his defense, it’s rare for any prospect to be a complete player on that end of the floor as they enter the draft.
