RJ Barrett is the favorite to be the No. 1 pick

This isn’t very surprising. RJ Barrett put on a show in Springfield, and showed why he is so dominant in high school. Standing at 6-foot-6 with long arms, RJ Barrett runs the point forward role for Montverde Academy. He can get to the hoop at will, and finish with his elite athleticism .

Also, Barrett can make plays for his teammates. He even showed he can plan some defense. Locking down Iowa State Commit Talen Horton-Tucker from the famous Simeon Academy. Unfortunately, Barrett won’t put up crazy numbers because he plays within his teams system filled with other ESPN Top 100 prospects.

RJ Barrett is the most complete player in this upcoming freshman class. He’s the most NBA ready with his great frame, athleticism, and his do it all ability attacking the rim, rebounding, playmaking, and defending. He still has potential to grow as a player too. Barrett’s jumpshot is far from complete and has a lot of room for improvement. Along with an improved handler to better create separation and more open looks for his teammates.
