NBA Trade Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers trying to trade for DeAndre Jordan, George Hill
NBA Trade Rumors: The Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly working trades for both DeAndre Jordan and George Hill
The Cleveland Cavaliers, who are expected to be one of the most active teams in the weeks leading up to next months’ NBA trade deadline, aren’t wasting any time.
Cleveland is reportedly already taking an active role in the trade market. According to Marc Stein of the New York Time, the Cavs are pursuing separate deals for DeAndre Jordan and George Hill.
It was reported earlier today that Cleveland was interested in George Hill, and the Cavs have long been connected to Jordan over the last few weeks.

As Stein points out in his report, trading for both Jordan and Hill could prove to be difficult – or downright impossible – for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Unless, of course, they’re willing to move the coveted 2018 Brooklyn pick. Although, the Cavs likely won’t depart with such an asset unless a player like Paul George becomes available.
The Cavs have really struggled as of late, and have lost nine of their last 13 games. Their defense is ranked second-to-last and their offense has struggled in spurts over the last few weeks.
Isaiah Thomas is still working himself back to game shape, and he’s struggled through his first few games in the lineup. Perhaps adding a strong two-way player like Hill, who doesn’t need to ball in his hands, could pay dividends for a team that is in desperate need of a defensive-minded guard.
Adding Jordan would help the team’s rebounding and around the rim. While Jordan isn’t the rim protector he once was, he’s still a big enough body to positively impact a defense. Plus, he’s another big that doesn’t need the ball in his hands to be effective. He’s essentially a bigger – and more effective – Tristan Thompson.
