NBA: 5 overreactions from the 2018 NBA offseason
LeBron signing with the Lakers won’t matter; they might not even make the playoffs
This is probably my favorite one of the summer. If you don’t think the Los Angeles Lakers are going to matter after signing the best basketball player on the planet, possibly the best one to ever wear a pair of sneakers, then you simply aren’t paying attention.
LeBron carried the Cleveland Cavaliers last year to the NBA Finals, and that team was bad. It is bad. Just look at how many games they win this season; it will likely be under 30. LeBron took that team to the Finals. Amazing feat.
But it’s not even just about that. I know LeBron moved to a much more competitive conference, but his effect on the basketball court is something that can’t be measured.
And if the Laker’s young players are as good as many believe they are, LeBron’s playmaking game will expedite their development process. The Lakers will be good this season. They may not be ready to take down the Warriors, but they will be big players this season.
