The Cavs won’t be terrible

After losing LeBron James via free agency this summer, many automatically assumed that the Cleveland Cavaliers would be terrible this season. However, much to the dismay of the Cavs’ haters, this team won’t be in the same situation that LeBron left them in 2010.

The Cavs will hang their hat on Kevin Love, who isn’t new to this role. It’s one that he embraced during his first few seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The big question is, can he still dial up that same type of production at this point in his career.

Apart from Love, I still Collin Sexton, who was one of my favorites prospects coming out of the 2018 NBA Draft. He’s a prototypical lead guard, and has all the ability to be a great defensive player. There’s a lot to like in those two first building blocks. The Cavs won’t be contenders in the East, but they also won’t be terrible.
