NBA MVP Ladder: Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant setting the league on fire
4. Kawhi Leonard, Toronto Raptors
Stats: 27 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists
Perhaps understandably so, many questioned whether Kawhi Leonard would ever get back to the top 5 player that he was before missing all but nine games during the 2017-18 NBA season. Through the first two weeks of the season, I think it’s safe to say that the answer is yes.
And he has the Toronto Raptors looking better than ever. They are still undefeated, along with the Bucks in the Eastern Conference, and already have a win over the Boston Celtics under the belts this season.
These aren’t the Raptors of the last few seasons. They’re not led by a player that has seen it all and done it all – Kawhi beat LeBron in the NBA Finals, remember. This could finally be Toronto’s year. Seriously.
