29. Cleveland Cavaliers
Marquee summer move: Drafting Darius Garland, Kevin Porter Jr.
Even though the Cleveland Cavaliers are checking in at No. 29, I can honestly say that I love what this team did during the offseason. Starting at the NBA Draft, the Cavs made the smart pick by taking Darius Garland. He was the most talented player on the board and Cleveland didn’t overthink.
Perhaps their best move, however, was taking a chance on Kevin Porter Jr. towards the end of the first round. KPJ was arguably a top 10 talent, but because of some off-the-court issues fell deep into the first round.
He’s the type of player that could grow into a real contributor, if not a full-blown star. The Cavs added talent, took a few risks and emerged from the offseason a better team.
