2. The Big 3 Heat – 2010 NBA Free Agency

It’s no surprise to see a reference to the Miami Heat’s Big Three here. The 2010 NBA Free Agency was billed as one of the most significant offseasons in history, and Pat Riley and the Heat absolutely dominated it. Would we finally get the whole story behind that offseason? Was it all orchestrated? And how exactly did it all come together?

Then, there’s the entire first season that ended with disappointment at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals. Then, the lockout. Was LeBron James really working out to make the transition to the NFL if it extended any longer?

After that, winning. There are so many sub-plots here with the huge Game 6 in Boston in 2012 that preceded winning their first of two championships. The moments leading up to Ray Allen‘s shot and then Game 7 against the Spurs in 2013. Then the final season in which the Heat lose to the Spurs in the NBA Finals.

Did LeBron know he was leaving before the end of the season? Did he really fly Pat Riley out to Las Vegas for nothing? Did Dwyane Wade know LeBron was leaving before the organization? Plus, the entire Chris Bosh element in which the Heat paid him a max contract in order to keep him around in 2014.

So many potential directions this type of documentary could go. The possibilities would be endless.
