1. Minnesota Timberwolves – Anthony Edwards, G, Georgia

It wouldn’t be surprising if the Minnesota Timberwolves elected to select LaMelo Ball with the No. 1 pick, but Anthony Edwards makes the most sense. Edwards is the best fit next to D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns and has the ability to make this backcourt one of the best in the next few years.

Edwards has the ability to play off-ball and score if necessary – he averaged 19 points and five rebounds per game during his freshman season at Georgia. Along with his physical traits – standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 225 pounds – Edwards has all the tools to be a good two-way player.

That’s exactly what the Wolves need and would complement Russell perfectly. Edwards might not have the highest ceiling in this draft class, but there’s no question that he could end up being one of the top 3 players in this draft. He has the ability to be a really strong second or third option on a playoff team.

Perhaps that is alongside Russell and Towns?
