Davis Bertans, Washington Wizards (free agent)

Davis Bertans might not be the name you expect to see on this list, but there’s no question that he was slowly transforming into a really good (and important) player for the Washington Wizards before the hiatus came into effect.

Bertans shot an outstanding 42 percent from 3-point range during the 2019-20 NBA season but elected against playing in the NBA’s restart bubble with the Washington Wizards. Bertans is a free agent and the Wizards have made it clear that they want to re-sign him, but perhaps the Sixers could pull-off a sign-and-trade that could land him in Philadelphia.

Of course, the trouble surrounds around what Bertans will demand on the open market. The Sixers are tied to four expensive deals – in Ben Simmons, Al Horford, Tobias Harris, and Joel Embiid – and unless they could unload one (perhaps Harris or Horford), a sign-and-trade would not work for the Sixers.

Still, that doesn’t mean the Sixers shouldn’t at least entertain the thought. Bertans was one of the better shooters during the 2019-20 season. In fact, he might’ve been the best deep shooting power forward in the league. He’d be a great asset to a team that desperately needs shooting.
