NBA Mock Draft: Warriors trade No. 2 for Myles Turner; Knicks take a versatile big
1. Minnesota Timberwolves – Anthony Edwards, G, Georgia
Heading into the 2020 NBA draft, there is plenty of unknown heading into November 18. However, one thing that we do know is that the Minnesota Timberwolves will likely take Anthony Edwards with the No. 1 overall pick. Even though Edwards might not be the best overall talent in this traffic he does provide the best fits for the Wolves.
He fits seamlessly next to D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns. Edwards is one of the better two-way prospects in this draft. Edwards doesn’t need to buy on his hands to be effective on offense and could be what D’Angelo Russell needs on the defense as a backcourt running mate.
If the Wolves don’t want to make the big mistake in this draft, there is no better selection than Edwards. At the same rate if the Wolves want to make a safe play they can also trade down out of the No. 1 overall spot and potentially add another asset or two and still get a prospect that they like towards the end of the top 10.
However, if they believe that Edwards is the right man for their rebuild there’s no question that they should make him the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft.
