14. Atlanta Hawks (via trade) – Aaron Nesmith, F, Vanderbilt

Rehasing the trade, the Atlanta Hawks receive the No. 14 and No. 26 overall picks, in addition to Gordon Hayward, from the Boston Celtics for the No. 6 overall pick. With the 14th pick, the Hawks will add Aaron Nesmith, an interesting wing player out of Vanderbilt.

During his sophomore season at Vandy, Nesmith averaged 23 points and five rebounds per game on 51 percent shooting from the field. On the surface, those seem like good numbers. However, it’s his 3-point shooter that has him as a project late-lottery pick.

Nesmith shot 52 percent from deep on eight attempts per contest. It should be noted that those numbers came in only a 14-game sample size. Still, if he can shoot 40 percent from deep on eight attempts per game, that’s mightily impressive.
