NBA Power Rankings: Lakers are champions; Nets look to crash the East

30. New York Knicks

What can you say? The New York Knicks didn’t exactly make huge upgrades during the offseason and while they did add an extremely talented young player in Obi Toppin at the 2020 NBA Draft, I’m not sure if he elevates this team’s ceiling all that much this year.

The Knicks are on their way to redemption, but I don’t think we’ll see the fruits of their rebuild this year.

29. Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons may have landed the steal of the top 10 in Killian Hayes, but I’m afraid that this team will need more than a couple of seasons to really make a jump up the standings in the Eastern Conference.

Blake Griffin is still around – for now – and they’ll be competitive as long as he’s healthy. This is not a playoff team, however, at this point in their rebuild. The Pistons still have some growing and developing to do.
