Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors may only be a half-game out of the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, but I don’t think anyone would be impressed with their ups-and-downs to start the season. The Raptors were one game away from the Eastern Conference Finals and haven’t looked anything like that team this year.

Instead, this team’s start has brought about questions about their immediate and long-term future. With the primary being Kyle Lowry and a potential trade. He’s an expiring contract after the season and there’s no guarantee that he’s going to re-sign with the team.

If he hits the open market, I’m not sure the Raptors would be the best option for him to chase one last ring before retirement. Perhaps trading Lowry could be a very real option. That’s something, I’m sure, this organization has thought hard about.

If the Raptors don’t start playing better and race up the Eastern Conference standings, I believe there’s a real chance this team could emerge as a seller at the NBA Trade Deadline.
