Teams that should target DeMarcus Cousins: Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers have had a rotating slot at the center position the last couple of seasons, due to injuries to Jusuf Nurkić. Hassan Whiteside was utilized as a replacement for the injured big man last season, with Whiteside shining in his role with the Blazers.

Now, with McCollum and Nurkić both out due to injury for the Blazers, Portland needs to think about bringing in players to cover their production. Adding DeMarcus Cousins to a team that includes Damian Lillard, Carmelo Anthony, Robert Covington and others would only strengthen the Blazers’ depth.

Cousins could fill in Nurkić’s role until he returns, providing a good pick-and-roll option and a solid offensive talent. His veteran leadership and toughness on the glass would help fill the void left by the injured Nurkić.

Even after the injured star returns, Cousins could still be a solid contributor off the bench and a frontcourt of Cousins and Enes Kanter would provide trouble for any opposing team trying to crash the glass.
