Kemba Walker is going to be a huge addition for the New York Knicks

Simply put, Kemba Walker was fantastic. After scoring 12 points on 5-10 shooting from the field while adding four assists and three rebounds, it’s easy to see that he brings much of what the Knicks lacked last season.

His game is a firecracker added to this offense. With flashy passes, a step-back 3, strong finishes in the paint, he almost single-handedly invigorated the Garden crowd.

Elfrid Payton, for all he brought to the team defensively, can’t compare to what Walker brings offensively. Having a point guard who can penetrate the heart of the defense and pass to the open man is a big breath of fresh air.

Payton too often was a liability on the offensive end. Walker, on the other hand, can do it all. Even with his small stature, he made four all-star teams with his elite shooting, ball-handling ability, and as a true floor general.

The Knicks finally found their answer at point guard and, if healthy, he will not disappoint.
