Why it’s time to rethink the Los Angeles Lakers’ chances of winning the NBA Championship. 

Much has been made about how uneven that the Los Angeles Lakers have looked through the first three weeks of the 2021-22 NBA season. Even though many expected the Lakers to struggle with the integration of Russell Westbrook, there are so many more issues that could potentially sink their chances of winning a title this season.

And, in fact, an argument could be made that we have already seen enough evidence from the Lakers that would suggest this team should not be considered a contender at the moment in the Western Conference.

Through their first 11 games of the season, the Lakers are 6-5 and currently eighth in the conference standings. They’re already battling multiple injuries and Westbrook has looked out of place on most nights.

Anthony Davis has been his usual excellent self but even he has taken a hit from an overall efficiency standpoint.
