Cleveland Cavaliers trade grade: B+

All in all, the Cavs needed help in the backcourt and that’s exactly what they’re going to get with this acquisition. LeVert is going to give the Cavs what they need. He can offer scoring, both off the bench or in a starting role, and will give Cleveland some flexibility.

He’s an underrated playmaker and we saw some of that during his stint in Brooklyn. At the same time, this acquisition does bring some more questions than answers when it comes to the future of Collin Sexton. Especially considering that LeVert is also due for an extension this offseason. But that’s something that the team could deal with later.

Either way, LeVert is exactly what the team needed to add at the deadline. Even though he’s not the most efficient of scorers, he’ll certainly bring an element to the team that they lost when Sexton sustained his season-ending injury.
