Even though he has no part in this trade, you can’t help but wonder what this deal will mean moving forward for the Blazers and Damian Lillard. The Blazers are making moves that suggest a rebuild is around the corner.
I’m not sure how the Blazers can kickstart a rebuild with Lillard on the roster. He’s not at the age where he can wait around for another build and it would probably be in Portland’s best interest to trade Lillard if they want to do a rebuild properly.

The Blazers have some big questions to answer and the biggest of which might be with Lillard. I’m not sure what Portland has in mind for the last few days ahead of the deadline or during the offseason, but this could be the beginning stages of the end of Lillard in Portland.
