NBA Trade Rumors: According to a recent report, the Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers have renewed interest in Kyrie Irving.

When Kyrie Irving opted into the final year of his contract with the Brooklyn Nets, something still seemed off. A couple of days later, it all came to the light when Kevin Durant requested a trade from the team and blew the entire blueprint up.

Durant is expected to be moved over the next few days, but so is Kyrie. Even after he opted in. And while the early reports are that the Los Angeles Lakers and Nets are “actively discussing” and possible Kyrie trade, there seems to be at least a couple of other teams interested.

According to a recent report from Shams Charania, the Lakers are not the only team interested in Kyrie Irving. The Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers are also said to be interested.

This is particulary intersted. From the Mavs perspective, it’s not all that surprising that they would have interest in Kyrie. Especially after they lost Jalen Brunson in free agency to the New York Knicks.

However, the interesting team in all this is the Sixers. Only because the expectation is that James Harden will re-sign with the team. Though, you’d have to wonder if the Kyrie angle would impact his decision at all.

When Harden was traded to Philly, the thought was that he didn’t really want to deal with Kyrie’s will he/won’t he play routine. Of course that’s not something we’ll know for sure, it’s at least a fair conclusin based on everything that’s been reported since.

The Sixers being intersted in Kyrie could throw a wrench in that narative however. And you’d think that there’s no way the Sixers would even consider a trade for Kyrie if it was OK’d by their stars – Joel Embiid and Harden.

Still, it’s intersting nonetheless. Where will Kyrie land? Perhaps it’s not a foregone conclusion it’ll be in Los Angeles.
