Andrew Wiggins, Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are exactly what Andrew Wiggins needed at this point in his career. After a rocky start to his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Wiggins was traded to Golden State and he has really blossomed while winning an NBA Championship this past season.

Ideally, Wiggins would remain as a part of the Warriors organization. The problem is, he’s on an expiring contract and will likely want another big payday. And I’m not sure the Warriors will be in a position where they could give him that.

Golden State needs to worry about what the future holds for both Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, to whom they are probably going to be a bit more loyal. If they elect to move on from either of those players, perhaps they’d be willing to pay Wiggins. I just don’t see that happening.

How could the Warriors get in front of this? By trading Wiggins this season.
