NBA Schedule Release: Nuggets-Suns snag a Christmas Day game
As the NBA’s Christmas Day schedule continues to leak, it appears the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns will face off in one of the matchups.
The NBA schedule release is something that most fans look forward to during the offseason. Especially considering that it generally comes down during the dog days of the offseason.
And it’s already begun to come to light over the past few days. Recently, it’s the Christmas Day slate that has taken center stage.
The Phoenix Suns are slated to meet the Denver Nuggets on Christmas Day. Over the weekend, two other Christmas Day games were also leaked, which will feature the Los Angeles Lakers clashing with the Dallas Mavericks and a rematch of the Western Conference semifinals matchup between the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors.
The Suns and Nuggets are widely expected to contend in the Western Conference this season. Despite a disappointing end to this past season, the Suns decided to essentially run it back after matching an offer sheet that Deandre Ayton signed with the Indiana Pacers.
Devin Booker should be healthy after struggling toward the end of the team’s playoff run and specifically for the Nuggets, their expectations will be at an all-time high.
Denver should have a great shot to break through in the West as Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. are expected to be back healthy. The Nuggets struggled all last season despite another MVP-worthy season from Nikola Jokic.
It will be great to see both the Suns and Nuggets back in the limelight this season and them getting a shot to perform on Christmas Day is good for the league as a whole.
Three NBA Christmas games have now been announced. When will the other two come to light? From all indications, it wouldn’t be surprising if we knew the full slate by Monday or Tuesday.
