Anthony Davis will be an MVP candidate

Anthony Davis won’t admit that there’s a ton of pressure on him heading into this season, but it’s pretty clear. He’s now the No. 1 offensive option in Los Angeles and the offense will be largely predicated on how impactful he can be. And I believe he will excel, health permitting, this season.

I predict that not only will AD be impactful in his new role with the Lakers this season but it will prompt him to be in the MVP race. AD will have such a positive impact on the Lakers that it will be impossible to not consider his presence in the Lakers’ bounce back to contention in the Western Conference.

And it should come as no surprise. When healthy, AD is generally one of the better players in the league. You can count the number of big men in the league that have the capability to do the things that AD can do on the offensive end. Injuries have complicated his career, especially over the last couple of seasons, but the potential for him to be a top 10 player is certainly still there.

We will see that again this season.
