NBA: 5 middling teams that should consider tanking for Victor Wembanyama

This is going to be a big season for the Sacramento Kings. There’s no question that this team is talented but there are questions as to whether or not this is a core that will be able to compete in the Western Conference.

While I don’t believe that this is a team that should sell all its meaningful assets right away, if the Kings prove once again to be underwhelming, even in the competitive West, they should think hard about moving some of their veteran pillars.

For example, no matter what happens, the Kings should not move Keegan Murray. The early indications seem to be that he’s going to be a key cog in the future. The question is whether or not the likes of De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis are included in that same future.

If not, they should be moved and the team should begin taking for the 2023 NBA Draft.
