Chicago Bulls

Coming off of last season, it may be a bit surprising to suggest that the Chicago Bulls should go all-in on a rebuild. However, the more and more I think about the Bulls and their current situation the more I think it should be a legitimate option for the team this season.

This is a Bulls team that, at its best, is probably a 7th or 8th seed in the Eastern Conference. And that’s probably with a healthy roster. Right now, the Bulls don’t have a healthy roster and there’s a very real question of whether this team is even going to make the playoffs this year.

Considering that reality, I don’t see a reason why blowing it all up shouldn’t be on the table for the Bulls. Even though the team just re-signed Zach LaVine to a long-term deal, I’m still not sold on him being the face of the franchise.

If the Bulls indeed want to find a cornerstone for the franchise, and possibly one that comes in the way of the next generational talent, Wembanyama is the exact player that Chicago needs. The Bulls have the potential to be a competitive team this season in the Eastern Conference, but if the season starts out and the Bulls look shaky, I don’t think they should entirely ignore the idea of blowing it all up at the NBA Trade Deadline.
