Anthony Davis is the best player on the floor

If through the first few weeks of the season, Anthony Davis is the best – and most consistent – player for the Los Angeles Lakers. That will almost definitely be a positive thing for the Lakers. You pretty much know what you’re going to get from LeBron James – let’s hope this is not the year Father Time emerges – and the big questions around this team revolve around AD.

If he’s healthy, he can be one of the five-best players in the league. If we see that version of AD this season, the Lakers have the chance to be really good and, perhaps more importantly, they will have a shot to be a dark horse contender in the Western Conference.

The Lakers acquired AD with the idea of him emerging and taking the role of the focal point of the offense a few years into this experiment. It’s now year four of the AD-era in Los Angeles. It’s time for him to be that player.
