The New Orleans Pelicans are sneaky good

If we’ve learned anything over the past couple of seasons, it’s that when they are healthy the New Orleans Pelicans have the potential to be sneaky good in the Western Conference. They’re healthy to start the season, and that’s exactly what we’ve seen from them through the first couple of games of the season.

On paper, the Pelicans have one of the best starting 5’s in the league. CJ McCollum, Brandon Ingram, Herb Jones, Zion Williamson, and Jonas Valanciunas. The Pelicans are 2-0 and have flashed the potential to be a dark horse threat in the West.

This is not a team that is going to make a run to the NBA Finals this season, that’s not what I’m saying. Though, this is a team that could potentially pull off an upset in the first round of the postseason. Or, at the very least, make life very difficult for a contender.

The scary part is that the Pelicans are only going to get better and better as the season unfolds.
