NBA: 5 scariest early-season trends from big-name stars
Paul George/Kawhi Leonard’s 3-point shooting
As the LA Clippers slowly begin to integrate Kawhi Leonard back into the lineup, one thing is clear; it’s going to be a work in progress. And the first few games of the season have indicated that. The Clippers have played five games but Kawhi has only played in two. It’s part of his workload program that he’s on.
Though, it’s going to be a while before the Clippers look like the team that many of us expected them to be this season. And the early-season play of both Paul George and Kawhi Leonard has indicated that. So far, Kawhi is averaging 21 minutes per game and shooting just 17 percent from 3-point range. George is also struggled with his deep stroke, shooting just 26 percent from 3 so far this season.
These are likely struggles that both players, still in their relative prime, should both be able to work passed. It’s going to take time and reps, though. If nothing else, it’s something to watch as the season continues to unfold.
