The big question for Kyrie is whether or not he can cease to be a distraction for this team when he does return to play. Ben Simmons still looks like a player that is searching for his confidence. The hope is that he looks better as the season evolves, but that’s far from a guarantee.

If the Nets can’t right the ship sooner rather than later, blowing up this core is something that remains a very real possibility. Especially after what transpired during the offseason in which Kevin Durant requested a trade out of town.
