Anthony Davis’ recent offensive output is not sustainable

For as talented as a player Anthony Davis is, I can’t help but think that his recent play is not sustainable. During the Los Angeles Lakers’ 8-2 stretch, AD is averaging  35 points, 16 rebounds, and three assists per game on 65 percent shooting from the field and 46 percent from 3-point range. I’m going to go off on a limb and say that isn’t a level of play that AD can maintain for the rest of the season.

The good news for the Lakers is that even if he seems a small drawback in production, he’s still a really good player. AD’s “regression” to a certain extent won’t be the reason why the Lakers don’t make the playoffs this season. He’s clearly embraced being the No. 1 option on offense and has come through.

He’s also been relatively heathy (*knocks on wood*) so far this season. But this is probably the first sign you should look for that would suggest that the Lakers’ recent play is not sustainable.
