NBA Trade Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers interested in Terrence Ross
NBA Trade Rumors: In an attempt to add shooting to their rotation, the Los Angeles Lakers have expressed interest in Terrence Ross.
As we inch closer and closer to the NBA Trade Deadline, the whispers around teams that clearly need to make a move are going to grow louder and louder. One of those teams happens to be the Los Angeles Lakers. That’s not a surprise.
The list of players that the Lakers have been linked to continues to grow and grow. And according to one report, one player that has been added to that list is Orlando Magic guard Terrence Ross. The 31-year-old veteran is averaging eight points per game on 37 percent shooting from 3-point range in a limited role with the Magic.
This report should not come as a surprise as it was reported early this season that the Magic are a team that is expected to move on from some of their veterans. Ross would probably be one of the players that sit atop that list. Now that Ross is on an expiring contract, this would likely be the ideal time not only for the Magic to move him but also for rival teams to target him at the trade deadline.
Will the Los Angeles Lakers make a move before Anthony Davis returns?
The big question for the Lakers heading into the next few weeks of the season is whether or not the team will elect to make a move before the return of Anthony Davis. He’s currently sidelined with an injury and is expected to miss about a month.
Should – or will – the Lakers decide to make a trade before they take a wait-and-see approach? Would the Lakers risk burning an asset or two in what could end up being a lost season (if the Lakers fall too down in the Western Conference standings)?
It’ll be interesting to watch unfold. Still, the Lakers’ front office is going to continue to do its due diligence. And it appears that Magic guard Terrence Ross is part of that.
Ross would certainly help the Lakers but is it a move that will significantly change the trajectory of the team this season? That remains to be seen but Los Angeles is going to explore all possible options. That is for sure.
