How Kyrie Irving’s trade demand could impact Kevin Durant

Is this a breakup between KD and Kyrie?

Since they decided to both sign with the Brooklyn Nets a few offseasons ago, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant have been linked at the hips. The team’s success and failure have fallen on both of their shoulders. However, especially with what has transpired over the last few months, you can’t help but wonder if this is simply a breakup between Durant and Kyrie.

I think that has to be considered the best-case scenario for the Nets right now. Unfortunately, I’m not really sure if anyone (including the Nets) knows if that is indeed the case. At least not yet. Heck, Durant may not even know what’s going on right now.

But that’s probably something that the Nets have to figure out sooner rather than later. Is this simply a Kyrie trade request or is there something bigger that is happening behind the scenes in Brooklyn?

The timing of this, especially considering the season that this team was having, for Brooklyn is far from ideal. But, let’s be honest, this is probably a road that the team was going to cross during the offseason. It’s here now.

The question now is, are Kyrie and KD still attached at the hip?
