Charlotte Hornets

It’s been a long seven years since the Charlotte Hornets last made the NBA Playoffs. And if management wants to change that, perhaps we see an aggressive Hornets team heading into the offseason. And one way they could do so is by spending big in free agency. And if they move Gordon Hayward’s contract, perhaps at the NBA Draft, this is a team that could have plenty of money to throw around, perhaps in the direction of James Harden.

For as surprising as it would be to see Harden in a Hornets jersey, they could be tired of the losing and looking to finally add a second superstar next to LaMelo Ball. I don’t know where this team would rank in the Eastern Conference as a whole but at least from an entertainment value, a backcourt duo of Ball and Harden would be quite interesting to watch.

If Harden’s market doesn’t end up being what he would want it to be, could Charlotte undercut everyone by offering him a max deal? Perhaps Harden would not want to live in Charlotte but if he truly is looking for one more big payday, maybe this is a possibility that could emerge this offseason.
