NBA Mock Draft: Ranking top 10 shooting guard prospects of the 2023 class
9. Andre Jackson Jr., UCONN
I’m not sure if Andre Jackson Jr. ends up remaining in the 2023 NBA Draft but he’s going to test the waters and see what the projections are. It’ll be interesting to see what the results are for Jackson because, at least in my opinion, there’s a very real chance that he ends up being drafted in the second round. The question is, does he believe he could raise that stock if he would return for a senior season at UCONN?
Jackson averaged seven points, six rebounds, and five assists per game on 43 percent shooting from the field but there were times throughout the season where he flashed the possibility of being so much more. He has shown the capability to be a playmaker and is a good rebounder for his size and position. If there is one general concern, it’s whether or not he can be a consistent 3-point shooter and if he can develop into a secondary scorer at the next level.
It may not be the worst thing in the world if he returned for a senior season but at the same time, I would not be surprised if he ended up staying in the NBA Draft.
