NBA Rumors: 5 Teams that could salvage Dillon Brooks’ career

It was a season of shortcomings for the Dallas Mavericks. Not only did they fail to make the NBA Playoffs this season but their midseason big move at the NBA Trade Deadline ended up being more of a dud than a success. Heading into the offseason, the Mavs are tasked with the pressure of not only having to re-sign Kyrie Irving but also figuring out how to further upgrade the roster.

It won’t be easy but perhaps a player such as Dillon Brooks could be in play for Dallas. They could use some help on the defensive end, which was one of the team’s downfalls this past season, and Brooks may be one of the best wing defenders on the open market this summer.

The question is whether it’s particularly smart to put together the trio of Kyrie, Luka Doncic, and Brooks. It would be one of the oddest trios in the league and I’m not sure that’s one that makes much noise in the Western Conference.

The Mavs have some big decisions to make this offseason but if adding Brooks is something that could be on the table, it’s certainly something they should at least entertain.
