LA Clippers
The LA Clippers are a team to watch heading into the offseason as it pertains to a possible landing spot for Chris Paul, or any veteran point guard for that matter. Assuming that the team is going to keep this core together and isn’t going to blow things up, the Clippers will likely be adding to this roster this summer. And considering one of the team’s goals at the NBA Trade Deadline revolved around adding a point guard, I can’t help but think that the goal may be the same heading into the offseason.
Instead of trading for one of the big difference-making point guards at the trade deadline, the Clippers instead decided to go with Bones Hyland, Eric Gordon, and Russell Westbrook. While there were flashes from this group at times, it didn’t exactly work out as perhaps the team had hoped it would.
Maybe one of the goals this offseason is to target a more established point guard; perhaps one like Chris Paul. It would be a great story if he could be the final piece for a team that has struggled to break through in the Western Conference with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
