Trade assets: 1. Jalen Green 2. Alperen Sengun 3. 2023 NBA Draft pick (4th overall)

Much like the Detroit Pistons, the 2022-23 NBA season wasn’t a banner year for the rebuilding Houston Rockets. As a team that many expected to take a step forward, the Rockets finished, once again with one of the worst records in the league. After dropping a few spots in the NBA Draft Lottery, the Rockets are now expected to pick fourth overall in the 2023 NBA Draft – a great pick, but that’s far from the team’s best trade value on the open market.

Despite somewhat of a disappointing sophomore season, in which his offensive efficiency took a hit, Jalen Green is still clearly the most talented player on this roster. Especially on the offensive end of the floor. If he can continue to develop and figure a few things out, there’s no question he can still emerge as a star in the league.

Alperen Sengun is another player that should be considered a premier trade asset for the Rockets, coming off a sophomore season in which he averaged 15 points, nine rebounds, and four assists on 56 percent shooting from the field.

If the Rockets wanted to make a big splash during the offseason, they certainly have the trade assets to get a move done.
