The LeBron James, Kyrie Irving connection is real

Even though the LeBron James and Kyrie Irving era in Cleveland didn’t end great, the two have clearly reconciled and the connection between them is very real. It’s almost as if since the two made amends with each other that they’ve been angling to play each other again. And that became abundantly clear last offseason when the Kyrie to Los Angeles Lakers rumors were birthed as soon as it was clear he was not part of the Brooklyn Nets’ long-term plans.

Even after the Nets decided against trading Kyrie, the noise didn’t die down completely.

Just before the NBA Trade Deadline this past season, when Kyrie demanded a trade away from the Nets, the Lakers were immediately looked at as a potential landing spot. That was before the Mavs stepped in; the Nets clearly didn’t want to give Kyrie what he wanted and elected to move him to Dallas instead.

It should be no surprise that the LeBron-Kyrie whispers are once again growing as the offseason nears. And if there’s at least an outside chance that this pairing could happen in Dallas (especially if Los Angeles is against it, it would be foolish to completely discount it.
