Orlando Magic

Heading into the offseason, the Orlando Magic will be one of the few teams around the NBA that will have the opportunity to sign Fred VanVleet outright if they want. And considering that the Magic has a need at the point guard position, it would not be surprising in the least if they made a strong effort to pry him away from Toronto.

Orlando has already been linked to the Magic and unless they’re able to land a point guard with the No. 6 or 11 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft (which there’s no guarantee of), I’d have to imagine that VanVleet could be on their radar once again when free agency opens.

Even though making a move for VanVleet could be one that has the Magic getting ahead of themselves, there’s reason to believe that Orlando could be one veteran star away from making a tangible move up the Eastern Conference standings next season.

And if they believe that VanVleet could make that level of impact, they should absolutely roll the dice. Especially considering they’re one of the few teams that could afford it.
