Unrealistic – The Minnesota Timberwolves trade Karl-Anthony Towns

About a week ago, there was this odd rumor that began to circulate. And it stated that the Minnesota Timberwolves could trade Karl-Anthony Towns in the next few weeks. I was shocked but not shocked at the same time. On one hand, the Wolves would probably be best by pivoting toward retooling around Anthony Edwards. That’s something that can’t be denied. However, when you say it out loud, it is still surprising.

The Wolves are going to trade a generational big man. Forget all the intangibles. When it comes to raw skill set, it’s hard to deny that KAT wouldn’t be considered a generational talent. Whether he lives up to that title or not is irrelevant. KAT is one of the most talented big men in the NBA right now and the Wolves are just going to trade him (probably or dimes on the dollar, considering his current trade value)?

Maybe I need to see it to believe it, but that just didn’t make much sense to me. And I still don’t believe it’s going to happen. At least not right now. I’d be flabbergasted if the Wolves traded KAT at the NBA Draft.
