Portland Trail Blazers

As the Portland Trail Blazers scramble to find a star to play next to Damian Lillard, dangling the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, it would be shocking if they didn’t make a call to see if Paul George is truly available. At the very least, they should explore the option in an attempt to see what the hypothetical asking price would be. And if it’s fair, the Blazers could land a great running mate next to Lillard heading into next season.

PG to the Blazers almost makes too much sense. Though, you’d have to imagine that the asking price for PG would be high. Perhaps even to the extent that it would turn the Blazers away. If I were the Clippers, I’d ask for the No. 3 pick, Shaedon Sharpe, and a couple of future picks. There’s no guarantee that the Blazers would be OK with that, especially considering PG could opt out of his current contract after next season.

That said, the Blazers are a team to keep an eye on when it comes to PG. If the Clippers are ready to hit the reset button, Portland does feel like a natural trade partner.
